HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing

This Nationally Recognised course is intended for students who are required to perform onsite Drug and Alcohol Testing. The course is designed to ensure correct procedures are followed when performing onsite Drug and Alcohol testing and preparing and packaging a specimen for laboratory testing.

Students have up to 60 days from enrolment to complete their course.

Duration
Online Theory and Training 10 hours, Written Assessment 2 hours and Video Conference Component 1.5 hours
Delivery
This course will be delivered via a combination of online theory; and Microsoft Teams practical training and assessment sessions at the individuals workplace.

Course Outline
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to confirm collection requirements, prepare client and equipment and collect specimens following the special procedures that apply for drugs of abuse testing.

Pathways
This course provides students with the required skills and knowledge required to work in environments where drugs of abuse testing takes place including workplaces, collection centers, hospitals and health care environments.

Entry Requirements
In order for the student to successfully complete the course the following is required:

  • AS3547:2019 approved breath tester
  • Access to a reliable internet connection (Wifi)
  • A computer

Accreditation
We provide a Statement of Attainment to all students who successfully complete all components of our nationally recognised course HLTPAT005 Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing. Students will also receive a Statement of Attainment card to display with completing testing.
